The View From Above Vancouver, British Columbia

Started as a small township of Gastown in 1967, Vancouver has grown to become one of the most liveable cities in the world. With just over 2.5 million people in the city, it is the 3rd largest metropolitan in Canada and the largest in Western Canada.

Vancouver took its place on the world stage after hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2010 Paralympics. With the boundless beauty surrounding the city and it the variety of summer and winter activities, an outdoor enthusiast will not be without an adventure to conquer. From skiing and snowboarding in the winter, or simply slipping on some snow shoes and going for a crisp walk through the local mountains. If summer is more your style then you can find your way into a Quad and go trekking through the back country or hike your way up the grouse grind and taking in the spectacular views from the top of this great city.

If the urban scene is more your thing, then the downtown core is where you will find a constant buzz of locals finding their way through the sea of visitors who looking for the best shops and navigating their way to Robson street , Yaletown or the Westend. Robson street offers some of the finest shopping in the lower mainland and you are sure to find whatever you are looking for. Then you can head to Yaletown to find a trendy bar or bistro for a snack or a few drinks after your exhausting day of shopping in the city. At the end of the Westend you will find yourself in English Bay and on a warm sunny day in August, don’t forget to bring a towel and a bathing suit because you will be tempted by the beautiful vistas the bay offers.

No matter what you are looking for in a cityscape, Vancouver offers any traveller a great time and a vacation you won’t soon forget. This city will allow you to escape in your own personal adventure and give you the satisfaction of surviving the thrill of travel.
